Pupils Conquer South Camberley Cross Country Event!

On the 5th of February, with trainers at the ready, twelve Year 3 and Year 4 pupils took part in the South Camberley Cross Country Event.

Initially, the pupils were a little apprehensive, as for some of the children this was the very first time they had represented Cordwalles at a sporting fixture.  However, once we arrived and the course had been walked, everyone was eager to get running.

There were four groups in total (two girls’ races and two boys’ races).  Each group comprised 25 children and in one event, 4th place was attained by a Cordwalles pupil.  This was a SUPER result!  After all, the course was ever so tough.

On top of each child’s drive to run as fast as they could, what was just as impressive to watch was the tenacity of each child who endeavoured, no matter how tired they were, to ensure they completed the course.  With our school values in mind, it was tremendous to watch how each athlete supported one another and cheered on others as they crossed the finish line.

Each pupil should know that the school is ever so proud of how they represented Cordwalles and their sporting spirt was certainly noted by all who attended!
