Parliament UK Week

Children at Cordwalles Junior School have been taking part in Parliament UK week.  The week commenced on the 2nd November 2020.  The classes involved took part in understanding the importance of the UK Parliament through a range of activities including quizzes, interactive videos and designing their own UK Parliament banners.

The topic chosen was 'debate'.  Children participated in a series of debates before holding their own debate on a topic of their choice.  Through planning and preparing for their debate, the children performed some fabulous discussions and provided some great argument points.

On the 12th November, the children were fortunate enough to receive a live workshop delivered by workers of the parliament.  The live lesson included an introduction to how UK Parliament works, what MPs do, the work of members of the House of Lords and House of Commons and how laws are made.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning and participating in a variety of different activities during Parliament UK week.
