Ash Class

We have had a brilliant term so far in Ash class! The children and I have really enjoyed learning about Neverland and all its adventures. We have designed Neverland maps, designed tipis and a class totem pole to represent the Tiger Lily and Big Chief and even created our own shimmery mermaid tails!

We started off the term in English by writing shape poems about a character of our choice. Around the outside of our character, we added descriptive phrases and similes.  After we completed our poetry unit, we started looking at the different settings in Neverland and used our senses to describe them. Our favourite was the Lost Boys Hideout! The children have enjoyed writing their own play script and acting it out with their group- creative ideas and lovely expression.

In maths, we started the term by learning about fractions. I am so proud of the children as they have learnt many new concepts and most importantly enjoyed their learning! After a quick look at place value, we have moved to addition and subtraction, where children will develop their formal written methods.

PE continues to be on a Monday (class based) and Wednesday (Gugafit). It is extremely important that children have their PE kit in school every day. During our class based PE, we will be playing tag rugby.

Homework continues to be due in class on Monday morning and reading records should be signed and in class daily.
