Ash Class

We have had an amazing start to the academic year and have quickly settled into Year 3 and new routines.

The children are really enjoying our topic ‘Here Be Dragons’. They have been on a dragon egg hunt around the school grounds, designed their own dragon eggs and described their dragons and dragon eggs, using expanded noun phrases, resulting in good quality writing from everyone.

In Maths, we have started learning about Place Value.

I am so proud of the children as they have learnt so many new concepts, but most importantly enjoyed their learning.

The highlight was a practical Maths lesson using manipulatives (Maths equipment) to show ‘How many different ways to make 100’. The children applied their understanding from previous learning in lessons and recorded their findings, using a whiteboard marker pen on the classroom tables.

I look forward to meeting you all on parents evening.

If you have any questions or concerns, please come and see me at the end of the school day.
