Our topic for this term is 'Kenya'. We have been using atlases to identify the different countries in Africa. During our stunning start, we created sunset silhouette art and made Kenyan pancakes in the kitchen. We have enjoyed learning about the landscapes in Kenya as well as the differences between rural and urban developments. Later on this term, we will be learning about the Maasai way of life and culture.

In our maths learning, we are focusing on fractions and then starting to learn about decimals. Times tables continue to be a big focus in year 4, as children will be expected to know all facts up to 12 x 12 by the end of the year. Please continue to practice times tables at home- all children have a log in for 'Times Table Rockstars', which they are familiar with from school.

During our English lessons, we will be writing journey stories and have just produced our own nature documentaries. If you require a seesaw bar code to view your child's work on seesaw, please speak to me.

PE kits need to be in school during the week, as our Gugafit lessons are on Wednesday. Children will need a full swimming kit in school on Thursdays until spring half term. Reading records need to be signed each night and handed into class in the morning.  Homework will be handed out on a Wednesday and due back in the following Monday.

Our class assembly will be this term, on Thursday 7th March @ 10:30am. A letter with further information will be sent out nearer the date.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to arrange an appointment to meet with us.
