Oak Class

Year 4

We have had a brilliant term so far in Oak class! The children and I have really enjoyed learning about the terrible Tudors and all of King Henry VIII's crazy antics! We have learnt the rhyme to help us learn about his wives and we understand the importance of the Tudor rose. Next half term, we will focus on various aspects of Tudor life, such as their clothing, homes and school life.

In English, we have been introducing the children to some of William Shakespeare's plays and focusing on ' A Midsummer Night's Dream'.  We have been exploring a scene from the play and predicting the ending- using a lot of descriptive language and speech!

In maths, we have been working hard to master place value. I am so proud of their resilience and ability to explain their reasoning. We have enjoyed using manipulatives to help us secure our understanding.

PE continues to be on a  Wednesday (Gugafit) and Friday (class based). Our class based PE topic for this term is 'Team Building and Orienteering'.

Homework continues to be due in class on Monday morning and reading records should be signed and in class daily.
