5C Mrs Cassidy

We have had a fantastic start to the academic year and have quickly settled into the upper school routines.

For our ‘stunning start’, the children became World War 2 evacuees and followed a routine which required them to ‘pack their suitcases’, complete their name tags, make gas masks and go on a ‘train journey’ to ultimately be picked one-by-one at their end destination.

In Maths this first half term, we are working on number especially place value; mental addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; identifying and classifying shapes according to their properties and finding fractions of numbers.

In English we are focusing on setting descriptions and diary entries with the main focus on World War 2. Our science this term looks at materials and their properties.

I look forward to meeting you all at parent’s consultations on Monday 8th and Wednesday 10th October.

If you have any questions or concerns, please come and see me at the end of the school day.
