Delight in Watts

Here at Cordwalles Junior School the children have the opportunity to visit Watts Gallery as part of an initiative run by the Delight Charity.  We were really excited that Delight chose our school again to participate in this project and we believe the children gain a lot from both the trip and the follow up days in school.

The children are given a tour of the gallery itself, a tour of Mary Watts’ studio and G. F. Watts’ painting room.  In addition to this, the children participate in a foam print making workshop, which they all thoroughly enjoy!

Following this, we are visited in school for three full days of amazing artwork!  The children learn many new skills during this time and as previously demonstrated, continue to uphold our school values of respect, endeavour and most definitely succeed.

This experience is rounded off with a trip for the children and their parents to see their work displayed in the Gallery.  The artwork produced is absolutely fantastic!
