Welcome to the Cordwalles Junior School website; I hope you will find our website informative and helpful in discovering more about our school.
It is always a pleasure to welcome new parents/carers to our school to see all that is on offer. We fully appreciate that the choice of school for prospective parents/carers is a very important one. Visits to the school are welcome and any one of the team would be happy to meet with you, to discuss your son/daughter’s future education.
At Cordwalles, we are committed to providing the very best education for your children. Cordwalles Junior School is an exceptional learning environment with a real community spirit. It provides children with a high degree of challenge combined with personalised support. Our core purpose each day is to facilitate engagement in, and for, learning and discovery. Where possible, we ensure this happens collaboratively. Our staff share a commitment to delivering exciting and engaging lessons and to a relentless drive towards raising the attainment of all pupils, regardless of their different starting points. Relationships between staff and pupils are excellent and behaviour is outstanding, characterised by mutual respect and high expectations of everyone in our community. The school offers a vibrant, broad and balanced curriculum and we work hard to meet the needs of all our pupils. This positive culture permeates all aspects of school life and the promotion of learning, through the full range of teaching approaches, takes account of the needs of all learners.
At Cordwalles, the health, safety, happiness and wellbeing of every pupil is our paramount concern. We listen to our pupils ensuring that they feel safe and enjoy their time in school. Our continual aim is to offer a rich education to equip children with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to ensure a smooth and successful transition into secondary education.
In December 2013, we became an academy within GLF Schools. Through this partnership, we benefit from sharing outstanding resources and practice across a range of schools. We hope that you will join us in supporting your child to fulfil their potential and look forward to welcoming you to Cordwalles.
