Road Safety Awareness

At Cordwalles, the children have been learning about how to keep safe on the roads during Road Safety week.  In class there were assemblies and some fun activities to keep them aware of the importance of being careful when near roads.  Pupil Parliament helped to keep everyone well informed by speaking with their classes about the best places to cross a road and what not to do.  They're also spreading an important message of 'Be Safe, Be Seen' which is part of the Road Safety Heroes campaign this year.

Here are Pupil Parliament's top tips for staying safe on the roads:

  • Always wear a something reflective like a high-vis jacket in the dark
  • Never mess around near the roads
  • Make sure you are not crossing the road in between any parked cars
  • Look left, look right and look left again
  • If you can, cross at a zebra or pelican crossing
